On April 19, 1980, Bob Marley performed in front of 100,000 fans at the Rufaro Stadium in Harare. A day earlier, on April 18th, he sang Zimbabwe, which some have not hesitated to call "his most important single composition", during the actual independence ceremony. Here is a video of that event.

How sad considering the current state of affairs in Zimbabwe. Mugabe is a pig and a tyrant who should be sent to the Hague and put on trial.
If only Bob were alive today. I'd love to hear his perspective of the past 25 years.

Bob was a pure genius. A man before his time. Too bad about the current state of affairs in this beautiful African nation!!
