Reminds me in a way of Dirty Pretty Things - definately looks interesting. Ghost Dog was also an excellent film!

Dirty Pretty Things? That is a darned good film, also about the predicament of Africans in Europe. Excellent, also satisfying.

BTW, this is not new. Many years ago, I read the autobiography of Peter Ustinov, the late actor. He was the child of a Russian aristocratic family, who grew up in Germany and England, and most interesting had an Ethiopian grandmother of whom he was very fond, but could hardly understand. He describes one of his childhood nannies as a woman from Kamerun (The German colony, part of which is the present Cameroun or Cameroon). We are talking about the early 20th century here, around 1919. He described this woman as unusually strict, stereotypically German, some would say. The German colonial occupation of her country was also very harsh. A writer or film maker could explore what made such a character tick.
