France 24: "President Paul Biya, in power since 1982, announced that he would like to modify the constitution in order to be re-elected one 'last' time. The announcement lit the powder keg in the streets of Yaounde. The opposition is organizing itself on the web." (My translation).

Peace in a country that has its people at heart and aim to satisfy their aspirations is non negotiable. The govenment has a duty and an obligation to ensure the safety of its citizens. In Cameroon and the rest of Africa, a leader is a demi God. A man with unquestionable powers.Any act of opposition to his rule is met with brutal force. The same dictators will use the tax payers monies to buy over their hungry stooges to sing praises on them in order to deceive their donors for easy loans and assistance.I have never being and will never be a lover of politics but leaving or being born in country like Cameroon have given me no option but to poke my nose into politics.I can,t pretend that I am not being affected by the sad events back home. Every born Cameroonian even those leaving abroad are tremendously affected by the unrolly ,greed and selfish attitude of those in authority led by the mighty Mr Biya who will like to convert Cameroon into a monarchy so that even after their deaths their great grand children will be governing. But let the Cameroon policy makers be aware that one day his will judge them.
God bless my beloved country Cameroon

I'm not Cameroonian, but I lived there for two years doing development work in the South province. Back here in the U.S., people ask sometimes why Cameroon is so poor. I tell 'em that Cameroonians - francophone AND anglophone - are a great people, but that their dictatorial, corrupt leaders prevent the nation from making progress. I understand why the young - people my age - are so infuriated with the leadership. (The same is true here - that's why we're working on getting Obama elected.)
My friends, drag Paul Biya out into the street and give him what he deserves. We are together!

It's almost 26 years behind us since Mr Biya and co came to power and to me and most Cameroonian its 26 wasted years. I am almost 38 of age and i can remember very well that faithful day when President Ahidjo decided to relinguished power to Mr Biya and how things later unfold. By when he took power i could quite remember we were living in a prosperous and young aspiring nation where our economic and industrial developement equaled that of South Korea and Brazil,Cameroon was on of the most educated nations in Africa as education was almost free, university students were given incentives to learn and at the end of one's course one was 100 percent sure of agood job and our parents were happy with the little pay the had as life was abordable to all and we even had a viable social security welfare. So were are we now after 25 years !what have we archived ? Ask your self

FRANCOPHONE AND ANGLOPHONE INA COUNTRY
RULED BY FRANCOPHONE CALLED CAMEROUN.
WELL YOU WILL BE SUPRISE. THAT PAULBIYA
NAD HIS DEAD COMRADE BOTH HAD A HAND IN
THE MILITARY ANNEXATION OF (BRITISH SOUTHERN CAMEROONS, AND CALLING US THEIR 2 PROVINCES)
SAMR WAY SADHAM INVADED KUWAIT AND OCCUPIED
IT AS ITS PROVINCE.
GIVEN THAT 7M BRITISH SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS WERE INDEPENDENCE, , OUR COUNTRY( WEST OF THE MUNGO RIVER TO BAKASSI AND AKWAYA TO BAMENDA, WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SINGAPORE OF WEST AFRICA TODAY. AND THE OTHER COUNTRY, EAST OF THE MUNGO RIVER WOULD HAD BEEN LEFT WITH A TOUGH DECISION TO EITHER EVOLVE IN
A DEMOCRATIC, DECENT CULTURE OR CEASE TO EXIST. BUT HEAR WE ARE AFTER 46 YEARS.
WE SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS WHO FIRST HAD OUR OWN PRESIDENT AND GOVERNMENT BEFORE AHIJO AND PAUL BIYA, CAMEROUN IN 1954-1959
ARE BEEING DRAGGED INTO THIS CESSPOOL OF FRENCH AFRICAN COLONIAL WARS OF ROT.
FOR THE SERVICE OF THE GREAT SATAN, FRANCE.

For those who still think that anglophones are part of the cameroun republic, kindly read these report from a froncophone paper.
Let history be our judge.

CODE which can be loosely translated in English as the "Association of Democratic and Patriotic Organisations of Cameroonians in the Diaspora" calls for the immediate departure of Paul Biya and the holding of demonstrations aimed at the blockade of Cameroon's Embassies in Europe on Tuesday,4th of March 2008.
A few weeks ago,CODE had forewarned Mr Paul Biya of the fact that the Cameroonian people had taken the option of popular uprising as a decisive step to cause the fall of his contemptuous and criminal regime. For some days now,the people have been courageously defying the dictator of Yaoundé;this is the foretaste of the civil unrest that shall engulf Cameroon,if Paul Biya doesnot resign immediately.
CODE declares that a revolutionary branch has been created in Cameroon to beef up the people's struggle and rejoices at the impressive number of fighters who who have joined this branch in such a short time and reiterates that the fight shall be intensified and that other methods shall be utilised to pursue the Intifada.
A NATIONAL WAKE-KEEPING IN HONOUR OF THE MEMORY OF OUR MARTYRS WHO FELL ON THE BATTLEFIELD.
CODE in collaboration with the Diaspora, has taken an initiative in support of the families of the martyrs who were cowardly assassinated during the uprising. In the days ahead,CODE intends to organise a National Wake-Keeping in honour of the memory of the fallen martyrs in Paris(France).CODE calls on all Cameroonians in the Diaspora to actively take part in these demonstrations in order to sensitise the International community on the heinous crimes perpetrated by a military that is incapable of safeguarding the territorial integrity but is always expressly available to murder young Cameroonians in a bid to protect a failed regime.
BLOCKADE OF CAMEROON'S EMBASSIES IN EUROPE ON TUESDAY 4TH OF MARCH 2008.
CODE announces a blockade of Cameroon's Embassies in London,Bruxelles,Bonn and Paris between the 3rd and the 10th of March 2008,and that a big demonstration has been scheduled infront of the European Union(EU)headquarter building on Tuesday 4th of March 2008 to protest against the passiveness and the hypocrisy of France in the face of heinous crimes perpetrated by Paul Biya against Cameroonians.
CODE calls on Cameroonians who are concerned about the future of their country or who are horrified or shocked by the criminal acts committed a few days ago in Cameroon,to join the ranks of these demonstrations in order to open an external front against the regime in Yaoundé.
CODE remains convinced that Paul Biya will not resist an uprising emanating from popular will for long and gives him an opportunity to leave power now, lest it becomes too late.
Brice Nitcheu-
Secretary General.

Biya has made it clear that he is a dictatator for more than 25years, and has recieved every support from the west ( since thy focus on Mugabe anc Fidele ). Its up to Cameroonian to decide which way to follow, without any reference. The orange revolution should be applied. This is a cameroonian issue and not a CPDM matter.

Just wondering!
Did any of those diehard dictators in Africa like Biya even send a message of congratulations to the new president of Ghana? They might have just got angry at the process and cosidered former president Kuffour as a sell-out.
What a shame!
