Ma Mary

I struggled through the french and got you. You got Nganang very well and he is no different than any francophone. His message to us is, assimilate already, and join the mainstream, the mainstream defined by us who are already Camerounese. Do not make us uncomfortable with your damn identity. Assimilation never really works. However hard he and his Camerounese try, they will never become French enough to be equal. Such is the fate of the Southern Cameroonian in that false union.

Good luck with the dialogue, but we should conduct that dialogue across our respective borders as international friends because we cannot put our lives in the hands of people who will never respect our identity.
