Carlson Anyangwe. Betrayal of Too Trusting a People: The UN, the UK and the Trust Territory of the Southern Cameroons. Langaa RPCIG, Cameroon | Paperback | 260 pages | 2009
There is a growing body of literature on what was originally envisioned as a free political association of the French and British Cameroons and its dramatic effects on the 'British Cameroons' community. Anyangwe's new book is an attempt to write the history of the Southern Cameroons from a legal perspective. This authoritative work describes in great detail the story of La Republique du Cameroun's alleged annexation and colonization of the Southern Cameroons following the achievement of its independence, while highlighting the seeming complicity of the United Nations and the British Trusteeship Authority. In the process, Anyangwe unravels a number of myths created by the main actors to justify this injustice and, in the end, makes useful suggestions to reverse the situation and to restore statehood to the Southern Cameroons. The book is rich in archival research and informed by a global perspective. It convincingly shows the uniqueness of the Southern Cameroons case.
Reviews
“This book written by one of Anglophone Cameroon’s outstanding legal specialists and long-standing champions of the Southern Cameroons cause will undoubtedly attract a wide readership. I think the arguments in the book will be hotly disputed in Cameroun and give rise to a lively debate globally on minority rights and quest for recognition.”

prof anyangwe i never met him but i spoke to him is a brillant man. he is not the only bate besong we have. not the only kiva likenye, we have many than you know, untill southern cameroons is an independent country many will live and die away from home
and theire childrens children will know southern cameroons only from an echo, just as we know victoria as a bad word, and untill we look the thief right into his eyes and allow him to see the fire in us, we would never be taken serious, soo, we must think of an arm resistance also rather than borad room diplomacy only if history have taught is anything, these people have a military, and its because of that ,they are oppressing us, for how long would we contune till fail path of
talk, talk and talk?

I don’t have a firm business model in mind, but I agree with what you shared at the seminar. The internet market is fast-changing, and what worked in the past may not work in the future. So it’s important to build a site that attracts a lively community, and have lots of dynamic content.

A high level discrimination was practiced in the 25000 recruitment wherein of the 1000 assistant lecturers without thesis, the 99 posted to the newly created university of Bamenda were placed on 465 index position contrary to their colleagues elsewhere who took 530 as initial index. Does this mean Bamenda University is inferior? the response surely is with Prof. Tafah or Prof. Famme Ndongo. Write or wrong both have a response
